People with an anxiety disorder are three to five times more likely to go to the doctor and six times more likely to be hospitalized for psychiatric disorders than those who do not suffer from anxiety disorders. The crisis has been further magnified among healthcare providers. The rapid onset of the coronavirus presented unusual health challenges for emergency and other treatment providers throughout the country. A recent survey conducted by Mental Health of America found 93% of healthcare workers were experiencing stress, 86% reported anxiety, 77% reported frustration, 76% reported exhaustion and burnout, and 75% said they were overwhelmed. Moreover, 82% reported feeling emotional exhaustion, 70% reported difficulty sleeping, 68% said they were physically exhausted, and 63% reported work-related dread. 20'
